The TAC [Type Allocation Code, former Type Approval Code] is a 6 to 8 digit number (as the case maybe) containing the first digits from the IMEI [International Mobile Equipment Identifier, a 15 digit unique serial number of each mobile phone]. The Type Allocation Code give information about the identify of any phone model.
